We are very excited to have released our Pray the Rosary DVD and Pray the Rosary CD this week! This has been months in the making and we are very pleased with the results. We cannot wait to start marketing it and hope to get connected to as many bloggers, book stores, and charities willing to help us sell, review and/or spread the word about this new DVD and CD as possible.

DSCF0384editThis past week has been the week of big purchases…in addition to purchasing a large stock of CDs and DVDs we also rejoined modern living with the installation of a new heating and air unit. After going all last winter without one, it has been a blessing already. The fine folks at Jody and Sons out of Franklin, TN could not have been nicer. Including making a play house out of our new heaters huge box, including windows and a sun roof.

My wife purchased advent candles from Hobby Lobby this week because it is the only place she can ever find them. When the kids saw them, Elizabeth explained that Advent was still weeks away, to which our daughter Olivia replied, “Can I blow them out!” Odds are she will remember too, right after someone else blows them out the first day of Advent. 🙂

Speaking of advent….the kids then began a discussion on who should give up what for Lent (possibly confusing the two). Hearing children under the age of 7 discuss what should be given up for Lent is always amusing. School, waking up and eating (totally) are usually in the top choices. The stakes get raised when they start suggesting ideas for each other, then we get into the serious stuff like LEGOS.

We enjoyed out traditional fall visit to Jackson’s Orchard. We enjoyed the day and didn’t let the cooler weather stop us from still enjoying a little ice cream. It was a hard day of work for us parents as we “had” to go with our kids down the huge tube slides, you know…to make sure they were safe.

At the Fathers of Mercy, where we attend Sunday Mass, Max and Bella discovered a prayer card with the Our Father in Chinese. They were very excited to take it to their Chinese teacher (Why rural Kentucky students are leaning Chinese is a long story). Today they finally remembered to take it in to school and were very proud to show us what their teacher gave them in return. To our surprise it was a business size card with a picture and quote from Chairman Moa. While it has been a long time since I studied Moa and read A mother’s Ordeal I remember enough to know I don’t want my kids taught about him. Another reminder of our need to continue to pray for the people of China, especially the innocent unborn babies!

On a lighter note…Our kids school aligned their “dress up like your future career” day with Halloween allowing kids to dress up without making it a Halloween event, which we appreciate as we work to avoid Halloween. We had a doctor, “Flower Shop Owner”, and (tagalongs who dressed up for the 2 minute ride to school) a princess and construction worker.
