Seven Quick Takes

Blogging has been on hold for a while, but with good reason. September 14th we welcomed our new little man, Dominic Michael into our family. He and his mother did great, in fact he was born in record time for us, less than 30 minutes at the hospital and no doctor in the room. We celebrated a beautiful baptism with our parish priest and friend Father Andy.

Max told me the other day that he prayed a Hail Mary after the Pledge of Allegiance in his 1st grade class. He told me after the Hail Mary he prayed he would have a good day…then he excitedly told me “and it was a good day, we did some more challenging things!” He is always happy taking on a challenge.

After a long day nothing is better than a hearty joyful laugh. And for better or worse that is what I got when my daughter revealed to me her drawing of an angel. I made sure she knew that I liked it very much and it brought me great joy. I can not look at it without a huge smile on my face 🙂

When we say that we run a family business we mean it! We involve our kids whenever we can. This week Benjamin, soon to be two, was playing a game moving some of our Rosary beads with bead holding tweezers from container to  container. He played this on and off all day. The culmination of this activity was when he ran to my wife and said, “mouth, mouth, mouth.” after close inspection nothing was found in his mouth leaving us to think that the pearl he was playing with was consumed. We have yet to discover conclusive evidence…if you know what I mean 🙂

After leaving my job to work full time on our family Rosary business and focusing most of our energy on developing our Pray the Rosary DVD we have completed our project and await the release of our DVD at the end of this month! Our Pray the Rosary DVD was inspired by our increasing devotion to the Rosary and our desire to help our children (5 seven years old and under) better learn how to pray the Rosary, focus more while praying, learn about the mysteries, and always know which bead is being prayed. After months of work we developed an easy to follow Rosary recitation with beautiful sacred art images for each mystery and a Rosary bead display that always shows which bead is being prayed. We also made an audio version on CD and an MP3 downloaded. While we have no experience in Catholic marketing our prayer is to get our DVD and CD into Catholic book stores. We would also like to offer it to schools, youth groups, parishes, pro-life groups and other charities looking for a fundraiser for their organization as well as an opportunity to spread the love of the Rosary (so if you are an interested Catholic school teacher or youth minister or blogger who likes to do reviews contact us!). We would love it if you would take a look at a short sample of what is included in our DVD:

We are proud to say that our Rosaries are being featured in a second online store! Soon after starting our business 2 years ago the nice people at The Christian Book Corner asked us if they could carry some of our Rosaries and have been doing so ever since. They are great people and we are proud to be a part of their business. Recently one of our previous customers contacted us about starting a new Catholic book store in Canada and asked if they could carry our Rosaries as well. We are excited to now have our Rosaries sold at For Greater Glory Catholic Book and Gift.

From Letter to Families:

The child becomes a gift to its brothers, sisters, parents and entire family. Its life becomes a gift for the very people who were givers of life and who cannot help but feel its presence, its sharing in their life and its contribution to their common good and to that of the community of the family.

~Blessed Pope John Paul II

  1. That’s awesome it was so quick at the hospital. With my labor, I’m so relaxed the nurses didn’t believe I was in labor. They just left me alone with the monitor. I had to buzz them in, that the baby was coming.
