Ana Hahn DVD Review and Giveaway!

This has been a week to be thankful for! We are excited to have connected with Ana Hahn from Time Flies When you’re Having Babies, who my wife and I went to Franciscan University with. We were able to send her one of our DVDs to try with her family. The pictures she shared of her children praying using Pray the Rosary DVD were adorable. Ana’s kind words were affirmation in our hopes that our DVD would help Catholic families be better able to pray the Rosary, especially those with a “boat load” of kids (as my friend would say).

Here is a part of what she told her readers about the DVD, “It has this wonderful element where there is a visual of a rosary at the bottom of the screen that lights up as you move from bead to bead and it was the first time that Naomi actually tried to follow along on her own rosary. That combined with the beautiful art work with each mystery and I would say it would be a great addition to any Catholic home, whether you have children or not.”

Snow!

The Doucette family was especially thankful for SNOW this week, a rarity in Kentucky especially in November! Being that I was born and raised in Michigan, I strongly believe that my kids have a little bit of “northern blood” running through their veins (despite the fact they were all born in Kentucky). We had a blast in the snow!

Fathers of Mercy

We are also thankful for the opportunity to attend mass at the Fathers of Mercy and more so to call the Fathers of Mercy friends. Elizabeth’s mother cooks for them and Elizabeth helped with Thanksgiving dinner and had a great time. It was fun for me to hear the stories of the priests passing around and doting on Dominic our 2 1/2 month old who went with Elizabeth. These priests have truly been a blessing to our family!

Thankful Turkey

Part of our Thanksgiving activities included remembering all the things we are thankful for in the week or two leading up to Thanksgiving and recording them on the “Thankful Turkey”. This turned out to be a great way to get our kids thinking about the blessings in their lives.

Great Neighbors

We are thankful for great next door neighbors, who among other things gave us the idea for “Thankful Turkey”. It is a blessing to have friends who share so many of our beliefs and strive to raise holy children, and it is especially great when they move in next door 🙂

My Wife and Children

I am thankful for my Family! What a blessing my wife and children are to me, it is truly amazing. I am thankful in a special way for Benjamin who celebrated his 2nd birthday last week. He is quite the HAM.

Our Catholic Faith

Lastly, I am thankful for our Catholic faith, whose history is summed up beautifully in this picture of Pope Francis holding the bones of the first pope, Saint Peter. The more I read about the early Church fathers and their teachings the more I love our Catholic faith.
