7 Quick Takes

I finally had the time to edit our first youtube “commercial” explaining how Design My Rosary works. Max gives a demo of how easy it is to create a Rosary and the girls add their endorsements as well. Take a look and let us know what you think!

We launched our new “Rosary of the Month” promotion. We are very excited to start with the Rosary my wife (who makes the Rosaries) designed after over a year of deciding 🙂 To read more see our “Rosary of the Month” post.

My 20 month old son will have the softest hands (and cheeks) of any boy around. Every night, every diaper change, and about 1 or 2 other random times a day the girls are asking for lotion and always make sure to share some lotion with Benjamin “Baby Soft Hands” Doucette.

Max and Bella 1st Day of School

Our oldest two kids had their first day of school this week. Max is in 1st grade and Bella is in Kindergarten. They both seemed to have a great day. It was weird for me not to be teaching that day after 7 years of teaching at the school they attend.

Max came home from his first day of school and stated he knew what he wants to be when he grows up.

Max: “I know what I want to be when I grow up, I want to be a principal.”

Me: “Really? Neat!…why do you want to be a principal?

Max: “Well…..I would just like to RULE things.”

I volunteered one day this week setting up computers, projectors, and document cameras at the school that I worked at for the past 7 years until leaving to work from home on our Rosary business and web design this year. It was nice seeing my fellow teachers, but difficult to know I am not a part of it anymore. I pray that working from home will become successful.

(RANDOMNESS WARNING) I got myself into a slap happy laughing fit today thinking about our very effective humming bird feeder. Yes, a simple enough thing, but I was thinking about how we try in our family to eat home cooked meals, avoid eating too much processed foods, and watch what chemicals are in different things, yet we feed the birds an endless supply of red dyed juice from a bottle. I was thinking of how little nectar is actually in each of the hundreds of little flowers the humming bird normally visits, yet now it perches on a massive red “flower” and drinks from the 1/4 gallon cornucopia of red dyed fruity scented nectar. I can’t help feeling like I am the bad guy in the humming bird world giving their poor children eating disorders and obesity issues 🙂
